This position is situated within the Plant Engineering division and oversees the strategic training and development of the plant's multi-craft maintenance teams. The role involves collaborating with the four maintenance departments (FM, Body, Paint, & Assembly) to develop and train maintenance personnel, ensuring asset upkeep, maximizing uptime, and enhancing plant operations.
What you will do
- Leverage existing training programs to educate maintenance technicians using classroom setting or shop floor.
- Create and follow lesson plans that teach concepts and theories that align with competence matrix.
- Create new training materials and establish training stations for the maintenance teams.
- Ensure the operational efficiency of training stations at the Volvo Training Center (VTC).
- Highlight the importance of data-driven decision-making by incorporating responsibilities related to tracking and analyzing training metrics to measure the impact of training programs on maintenance performance.
- Coach and mentor teams as needed
- Instruct maintenance personnel on assorted topics, including but not limited to Electrical Safety, Basic Motor Controls, SEW & Siemens VFDs, introductory Siemens PLC, introductory ABB Robotics, Hoisting and Rigging, Aerial Work Platforms, Maximo, Pneumatics, and Gear/Pulley/Drive systems.
- Coordinate with departments to arrange external training for technicians.
- Help enhance and standardize the Value Driven Maintenance System practices and tools.
- Oversee and monitor capex/opex budget plans related to training.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in maintenance training by regularly attending workshops, seminars, and conferences. Encourage continuous learning and professional development among maintenance staff by providing access to relevant courses and certifications.
What you will bring
- 5-7 years of experience in multicraft maintenance
- Verified background as a Maintenance Professional
- Proficiency with Siemens PLC
- Proficiency in VFD systems
- Expertise in Electrical systems
- Expertise in Mechanical drive systems
- Ability to work as individual contributor.
- Ability to collaborate with teams to assess and address training needs.
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities
- Analytical mindset with critical thinking skills
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent communication skills, including development of effective training materials and PowerPoint visualization
