Let's introduce ourselves

This is a new role in Facility Management team, which is part of Plant Engineering dpt. 
Facility Management is the backbone of our state-of-the-art plant, ensuring continuous, efficient operation of our entire site.
The team is a multidisciplinary group of experts managing areas such as building maintenance, landscaping, and all utility services (water, electricity, gas) across the plant, as well as essential services (from the canteen through cleaning to the car fleet).

What you'll do

You will utilize strong engineering mindset and previous experience in water treatment to act as a “water manager” (vodohospodár), to secure and coordinate the operation of all the water treatment and industrial waste water treatment systems within the whole facility to maintain them, improve them, and to ensure they are in compliance with the legal requirements and defined Volvo environmental targets.
In doing so, your overall responsibilities will also include:

  • Create and uphold a maintenance plan for the system by selecting the proper predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventive maintenance (PM) techniques;
  • Maintain data records on water (incl. drinking water monitoring) and waste water plant parameters and operation, with regular reports to upper management as required;
  • Maintain all the maintenance and improvement activities in the CMMS (Maximo) and follow up on all the KPI's related to the water and waste water system;
  • Be responsible for the operational and maintenance costs, including assisting in preparing the budget and water consumption monitoring;
  • Assist project leaders or manufacturing engineers on any new installation (water and waste water capital projects);
  • Monitor sewage/rainwater drainage (monitoring, coordination of necessary measurements, and cleaning);
  • Monitor oil separators and grease traps (monitoring, coordination of cleaning and proper waste handling);
  • Ensure emergency preparedness - prevention of possible groundwater contamination = ensuring compliance with the water emergency plan;
  • Coordinate measurements and analyses resulting from the fulfillment of legal and other requirements;
  • Provide input for the preparation of reports, cooperate in audits and inspections.

What you'll bring

  • Several years of previous working experience in a similar role, acting as a “water manager” (vodohospodár), preferably within an industrial or manufacturing setting in an international company;
  • Corresponding professional qualification to perform the activities of “water manager” (vodohospodár) - specialist in the construction of water management structures, in accordance with applicable legislation, would be an advantage;
  • Preferred University education: Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent;
  • Very good knowledge of chemical treatment;
  • Strong understanding of local and international environmental regulations;  
  • Conversational in Slovak, written and spoken, and preferably proficient in the English language;
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude, but also an ability to work within a multinational team;
  • Self-starter and troubleshooting attitude, high level of communication skills, curiosity to learn new technologies;
  • Analytic and engineering data reporting skills.

Compensation Data

Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.000 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
