Senior SPM Engineer, Vehicle Structure

Summary of the role:

This role acts as supplier performance management for all kinds of body parts (cold stamping, hot forming, aluminium extrusion, arc welding, spot welding, etc.) in Procurement department, the main tasks of this position includes but not limited to supplier sourcing, supplier assessment, technical review, program management, quality management, capacity management, problem solving, open issues follow up, etc.

What will you do?

• Support buyer and R&D for BIW parts supplier selection and assessment, identify risks during sourcing stage.        
• Participate in technical review with BIW General Stamping suppliers.
• Conduct SEMAT audit and approve General Stamping supplier to support for new programs.                         
• Participate in the project meeting with cross function team.
• Closely monitor supplier's program development status.
• Train and support suppliers in using and implementing Volvo required
• quality assurance tools (APQP/PPAP)
• Secure supply base fully meet Volvo quality and capacity requirements.
• Drive continuous improvements at supplier site.
• Drive to solve constraint cases.
• Provide site Lessons Learned to program team and suppliers.      
• Drive implementation of lean deployment at supplier site.              
• Follow up open issues for suppliers until closure.
• Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

• Good knowledge of steel/aluminum, stamping, checking fixture, Stamping tooling etc.
• Proficiency in English, oral and written.

• Ability to travel 3-4 overnights stay per week.

• Min 5 years working experience in material forming process.
• SPM/SQM/SPM experience in well-known OEM or tier 1 Stamping suppliers of automotive industry for stamping tooling, checking fixture and process control.
