Manager Packaging Engineering/经理, 包装工程

Purpose

Learn, lead and develop people and business. Manage company business and people resources effectively, set future business direction within area of responsibility and demonstrate personal leadership in support of company business objectives and the Volvo Cars culture.

Meet project objectives and deliverables according to time, cost and quality.

 

Main tasks

Organize work and internal/external resources so that company objectives, short and long-term are met in an efficient manner.

Utilize assigned company resources effectively to add value to the business and/or support value creation activities in the business

Manage and allocate the assigned work effectively to ensure that each employee is able and motivated to contribute to their maximum potential to sustainable business success

Lead and develop the Packaging Engineering department efficiently to support Volvo Car Corporation APAC

Organize and lead the regular running issue meeting across plants

Ensure all the open issues can be closed within defined lead time

Keep full traceability and transparency about all issues

Drive the continuous improvement of packaging in the running phase moving towards overall logistics targets

Secure the close loop of learning from running phase back to project phase

Balance various demands and prioritize activities for optimal efficiency and results

Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure process and activities in line with requirement from Logistics APAC

Ensure the required resources and competences for the organization

Communicate expectations and decisions to employees

Lead in a manner which drives the Volvo Car Culture

 

Responsibility

Operate in accordance with the legal framework and agreements.

Provide leadership and direction to the Packaging Engineering/Project team to accomplish all team goals and objectives.

Operate to company compliance standards, terms and instructions.

Adhere to company processes procedures and keep data record updated

Steer and manage the root cause analysis for the open issues

Escalate issues to higher level or cross functions to ensure highest working efficiency

Manage team development through training, coaching and career mapping; develop personal growth opportunities.

 

Authority

Authority to organize, lead and manage assigned resources, to fulfil the responsibility described in the Function Description for the organization in scope for the manager.

In case the targets are not possible to achieve, due to obstacles or constraints of any kind, the manager has the authority to escalate such issues to his/her superior manager, or use defined governance (fora) to get support.

Financial authority according to Volvo Cars Delegated Authorities.

 

Competence requirement

Bachelor degree or equivalent in engineering or logistics

5+ years of working experience within the packaging engineering section

2+ years of working experience in manufacturing industry and car plants is a plus

Proficient knowledge in packaging types for both one-way/returnable packing and racks

Good team management skills, good conflict solving capability

Approved strong communication skills both inside and outside the organization with same or conflicting interests or targets

Being creative and innovative in problem solving process

Thinking and acting with positive manner while maintaining can-do altitude
