CI Software Engineer

Main Responsibility:

• Mainly act as a software developer/engineer focusing on Continuous Integration and Test Automation which ensures car software quality assurance.
• Design, develop, and implement customized software solutions and pipelines with inhouse or open-sourced technology to automate the end-to-end CI and test automation process including coding, software version controlling, building, testing and merging.
• Consult with customers and analyze user’s needs in terms of Continuous Integration and test automation to determine feasibility of solution within time and cost constraints; contribute to requirement and design specs; Design, develop and validate effective digital products to meet complex digital products and business needs; take responsibility for technical documentation and knowledge update.
• Be responsible for the operation of CI digital products and secure the operation excellence throughout the product life cycle in APAC. Maintain digital products and handle daily end user support.
• Support global and local Product Manager/Owner to understand and identify the business needs/benefit and value of activities, and to define long-term and short-term product vision with input from customer in APAC region.
• Perform concept studies, pre-studies, including problem/opportunity analysis.
• Act as a core member of Scrum team; participate in Scrum activities including planning, daily standup meeting, retrospective, demonstration, etc.

Education

• Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science or engineering.

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer with proven delivery in appropriate development languages. Python or Java is a big plus.
• Practical experience with continuous integration tool chain setup and deployment e.g., Git/Gerrit, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.
• Practical experience with container technologies, particularly Docker.
• Experience of software project working with cross-functional and globalized teams.
• Experience of software development using cloud products (AWS or Azure) is a big plus.
• Experience of Agile (Scrum) development is a big plus.
• Experience of backend/frontend software development is a big plus.

Qualification

• Hands-on skill of programming with Python/Java.
• Hands-on ability of source code management.
• Hands-on ability of Unix/Linux system administration.
• Good IT knowledge on operating system, database, network, storage, cyber-safety etc.
• Good knowledge about Cloud technology and application.
• Basic knowledge about car software development.
• Proven documentation and specification skills - Ability to document and specify relevant information in a structured and concise way, using an understandable language fit for purpose.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
