Our business since its inception in 1991 has been to develop the best retail dealer system and information services for the automotive industry. In the current situation, we have about 100 employees with expertise in areas such as automotive trade, project management, systems and IT. Some of our largest customers are Volvo, Renault and Ford dealers and their general agents and today we have over 10 000 users of our solutions. We are seated in beautiful, newly renovated premises at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Car Sweden.

Volvo Cars is in the process of developing and industrializing the future propulsion systems based on HV battery and Electric Drive Axels.  
ME Propulsion Components, is a section within Manufacturing Engineering. We develop and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in our plants worldwide. 
The section is working cross functionally and project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Corporation´s production plants and car programs locally and globally. Within the Local Industrialization VCDQ Team, we are now looking for a new member working as an Equipment Engineer in charge of Electrical control system and automation.

The team has responsibility to develop and implement production lines and equipment solutions for projects, running changes, capacity projects and non-product projects according to project targets for the Volvo Cars HV Battery production. 
You will be part of an engineering team that implement engineering solutions that fulfil attribute requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. 
The work includes contacts with global team, other engineering departments, plant engineering and production within our company as well as with external suppliers.
The position requires some travelling.

What will you do?
As our next Equipment Engineer you will execute Tooling & Equipment projects for our Daqing plant HV Battery production, together with a project team from concept phase to Final Status Report.
You will also: 


  • To follow methods and techniques for equipment in the production, execute equipment projects for the production units to fulfil the defined quality, lead time, cost efficiency, safety/health/environment, flexibility, change over. The areas of activity are Volvo Cars plants.
  • Establish and update technical equipment specifications within the area: PLC/Automation.
  • Together with IT to define communication strategy and setup between PLC and IT system.
  • Executes equipment projects (develops, calculates, plans, TSU, procures and verifies) for plants in area: PLC/Automation.
  • Learn and practise PLC/Automation strategy to meet manufacturing (process) targets.
  • Check and verify electrical control program and drawings.
  • Follow up of the contractors during design, manufacturing and installation, taking care that specifications are followed. To understand and implement VOLVO standards during working.
  • To follow up and report own assignments to the assigner.
  • Reporting status and deviations in decided systems / tools and ensure that there are action plans to reach targets.
  • Handover PLC/Automation/Andon system related to the end user.

Do you fit the profile?
We believe you:

  • Have more than 5 years equipment invested and modification project experience in passenger car or relevant company.
  • Have a B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent competence gained by experience.
  • Familiar with SIEMENS PLC, software. experienced to use SIEMENS software for programming, experienced to use EPLAN.
  • Be good at expressing, communication and coordination.
  • Working experience with foreign staff in joint venture preferred.
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS windows and MS office applications.
