Our business since its inception in 1991 has been to develop the best retail dealer system and information services for the automotive industry. What should you do?

To develop methods and techniques for equipment in the production, lead and execute industrialization projects for the production units to fulfil the defined quality, lead time, cost efficiency, safety/health/environment, flexibility, change over. The areas of activity are Volvo Cars plants.

Main Tasks·

  • Leads or executes equipment projects (develops, calculates, plans, TSU, procures and verifies) for plants.
  • Creates and analyses the equipment part of the process layouts.
  • Performs safety-, reliability- and cost analyses.
  • Performs Equipment FMEA.
  • Develops equipment strategies, in some cases in an SMS (Subject Matter Structure) group as driver or participant.
  • Initiates and leads AE (Advanced Engineering) and OD (Operational Development) assignments within the area of responsibility.
  • Contributes in annual work and pre-PS phases with specialist competence, works for Process Driven Product Design.
  • Supports the running production (Industrial Engineering, Production and Maintenance) with second line analysis within the area of responsibility.
  • Transfers competence within the area of responsibility to Production and Maintenance.
  • Contributes in development of instructions and routines within the area.
  • Participates in or leads relevant standard- and technical organizations within the area of responsibility with authority to represent Volvo Cars.
  • Follows the decided working methods such as VPDS and applicable BMS routines and E-card / Buy off book.

Responsibility

  • Secures that Volvo Cars strategies, standards and specifications are fulfilled.
  • Establish and update technical equipment specifications within the area.
  • Within the area of responsibility support VCM with specialist competence with the authority to make decisions in technical matters.
  • To follow up and report own assignments to the assigner.
  • Reporting status and deviations in decided systems / tools and ensure that there are actions plans to reach targets.
  • To follow up granted funds for the assignment.
  • To execute assignments according to ME:s processes and the corporate rules and regulations.
  • Equipment that fulfils all steps in the handing over to end user process
  • Provide Lessons Learned to secure that we do not repeat mistakes both in Car programs and in support to running production

What Competence should you have?

  • Bachelor degree or above, Engineering major is preferable;
  • Minimum three years as Process Engineer, or eight years related working experience from foundry, and good to have production experience;
  • Fluent English in listening, speaking, reading and writing
