We want to help where we can

At Volvo Cars, we are committed to delivering to our purpose and our strategy – making safe, sustainable and electric mobility accessible to more people. And we have room for more talent in our company to help us achieve those ambitions.

People fleeing Ukraine due to the war can apply for a job with us through a dedicated fast-track recruitment process. This involves matching your competencies and experience against open positions with Volvo Cars in Sweden.
We have openings in a variety of fields, with the majority tech-related.  We will respond to your application within 48 hours, to let you know if we can proceed with your application or not. Candidates will go through all the necessary steps of our standard recruitment process, only faster.
We are a collaborative, diverse and inclusive Volvo Cars community. A dynamic global organisation, committed to driving change. We believe in creativity, ideas freely expressed, and we all contribute to the exploration of our shared future. If you share our values, there could be room for you in the Volvo Cars family.

We can provide some support with relocation and getting settled in Sweden.

Let's create the future together.

At Volvo Cars, we believe that being curious and truly committed to understanding people is the key to future success. We are people who care about other people, working together to create new technologies and innovations for safe, sustainable and convenient mobility. Want to join us?

What’s in it for you?

Does the thought of being the leader in an outstanding organisation that serves one of the core areas of the Volvo Cars business that will help us achieve the goal of being a fully electric car company by 2030 excite you? Excellent, then we would love for you to be one of our Software Engineers that will join one of our product teams on this outstanding transformation we have ahead of us. The role is within our Global Online Experience (GOX) area and our mission is to ensure we provide a transparent and reliable experience for our customers that have bought or leased a vehicle with us.

What you’ll do

You will be developing front-end software for consumer-facing and internal products across more than 100 countries. We build the end-to-end experience for online sales/subscriptions of cars, global campaigns as well as frameworks for other parts. Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts, and regular product development.

Our current stack for building web user interfaces and frontends includes, but is not limited to, JavaScript, VCC-UI (Volvo Cars proprietary react framework), React,  Typescript, Node.js and GraphQL. You will contribute to building an innovative car ownership experience. Our Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline are built on top of Docker, Jenkins, and Spinnaker, so you will be able to deliver value and innovation to car owners daily.

You and your skills

We expect you to have experience building modern web apps, user interfaces, and frontends and have strong knowledge of the Web Platform (JavaScript, HTML, and CSS) and Software Engineering practices. Also, you understand the challenge and value of building consistent, responsive, resilient and accessible UI.  We want people with a growth and learning mindset, therefore we don’t expect you to have knowledge of all the tools, concepts and technologies that we use. Instead, we expect you to have an attitude towards acquiring the knowledge necessary to do your work.

We offer our employees excellent benefits such as:

  • Plenty of leave to let you take time off for what's most important in life
  • At Volvo Car Group, all new parents with one year’s active permanent service now receive 24 weeks of parental leave, paid at 80 percent of their base pay.
