Our team is responsible for the Product Information System that powers Volvo Cars’ global Service Agreements, offers, and contracts. We’re building a back-office solution that allows our business teams to create and manage content and offerings, enabling seamless access to this information for our sales channels and markets worldwide. What you'll do:
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Product Information System. You’ll be responsible for developing and optimizing backend services using .NET and C# to deliver scalable and high-performance applications.
Your contributions will include:
• Collaborating closely with the team to maintain and enhance the accuracy and quality of commercial product content and technical data for our global markets.
• Driving innovation by building and refining backend services, ensuring our solutions are both robust and performant to meet the demands of our expanding digital ecosystem.
• Integrating seamlessly, as you manage data flow and accessibility, guaranteeing a smooth exchange of information across systems and stakeholders.
• Crafting messaging solutions with Kafka to support resilient, real-time communication between systems and services, creating an interconnected experience.
• Ensuring reliability by setting up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and metrics tools, enabling a proactive approach to maintaining system health and performance.
• Leading improvements by identifying both technical and product-related opportunities, championing these enhancements within the team, and engaging our stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to life.
As a Senior Engineer on our team:
• Together with your colleagues, you will lead technical discussions and drive architectural decisions, sharing your expertise to ensure we adopt the best practices in backend development and cloud infrastructure.
• You’ll act as a strategic bridge between product and engineering, translating business needs into technical solutions that push the boundaries of customer experience.
Who you are:
You are a seasoned engineer passionate about backend development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions. We are looking for a skilled developer and a collaborative team player with an eye for innovation for this role.
You bring:
• Extensive experience with .NET and C#, along with familiarity in multiple backend frameworks, allowing you to develop and scale robust applications.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and experience with messaging platforms like Kafka, enabling effective data handling and system communication.
• A keen focus on reliability, with experience using logging, monitoring, and metrics tools as part of your daily workflow, ensuring high system stability and performance.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally including Azure, to support our hybrid and scalable deployments.
• A collaborative spirit – you are eager to share insights, provide meaningful feedback, and bring fun and enthusiasm to work.
• A mindset for change – you have a knack for balancing business needs with practical, high-quality solutions, and you’re motivated to drive continuous improvement within our team.
