Right now, we have an exciting job opening for you in Painted Body, Vehicle Hardware department in China, located in Shanghai.

  • If you are passionate about Paint, this might be a great opportunity for you! Painted Body PDS is part of global team. Focus on Sedan development and take lead of product development for global projects. 
  • Painted Body PDS team is responsible for BIW and surface product including UN body, UP body, Geometry, System attribute, Paint, Label, Vehicle cover, Sealing and Plug, etc. We have capable GDLs, Designers, GSU and CAE to secure our delivery with high quality and in time. 
  • We work in close collaboration with our suppliers, support them with quality requirements and lead them in the direction of our expectations. It is important for us to have a transparent communication with external and internal stakeholders, to work together as a one team and deliver in perform according to Volvo Cars values and principles of our culture and goals. We are also transforming internally and changing into agile way of working using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), which gives our employees additional opportunities to grow and develop within the company and have a broader scope of work, deeper collaboration and taking the ownership of their work. 


What you will do?

  • Work together with Volvo headquarters in Paint area, responsible for the commodities development local projects.
  • Work in AGILE way with cross functional teams to meet customer expectation for global markets including China market.
  • Deliver for all program milestones, with timing, quality and cost target in control.
  • Involve in local supplier evaluation and development, deliver technical requirements and specifications to suppliers, prepare and sign off technical documents.
  • Paint AAR (Appearance Approval Report), Colour Matching and Surface texture assessment.
  • Do you fit the profile?
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • More than 3 years’ working experience in Paint development in OEM.
  • Familiar with Paint shop chemicals, including processing, property, testing, quality and cost.
  • Knowledge of surface product commodities, including Pre-treatment, Electrocoat, Topcoat, Corrosion, Wax, Vehicle Cover, Sealing and Plug. 
  • Knowledge of complete vehicle development process, APQP\PPAP or other product development process in automotive industry.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent English in both written and oral.
