What you’ll do

The Technical lead in China S&P PMO team, is accountable for leading the R&D development of major vehicle projects of high complexity with a large, dispersed team. Focus is on the delivery and industrialization of the project whilst managing the implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall project with the expectation of delivering on time, within budget, and to scope. The Technical Lead acts as the main industrial interface towards the Vehicle program, whilst also working as an advocate for the vehicle program towards all relevant stakeholders. 

Besides creating and keeping our products desirable, the cross functional program team also motivates and analyses business opportunities in general linked to our car products. We live and breathe cross-functional. Interaction with other departments and organizations is vital and everyday work.

  • Lead the industrial team responsible for the program delivery. 
  • Secure program resources at R&D, Procurement and Manufacturing in order to execute the industrial development and deliveries.
  • Control and refine program costs – Investments and Total variable costs. Follow up status v targets at all program stages. 
  • Secure balance of Time-technology-cost for key contributors in the vehicle program. Lead negotiations within the line organizations, manufacturing facilities and attribute centers. 
  • Develop and follow up on Program work plan (VPP) and the close range plan.
  • Handle the product structure (KDP, Team Center) .
  • Secure delivery of attribute and quality targets.
  • Manage new content requests and lead requests of new content with high degree of complexity.
  • Manage and summarize the technical milestone reports to Business Milestone Review.
  • Based on program status initiate and follow up decided corrective actions. 
  • Recommend and decide solutions and deviations at the VPTM and VPBM with business pre-requisites and consequences. 
  • Continuously improve methods and tools utilized in the execution.
  • Closely communicate and collaborate with Sweden headquarter vehicle cluster program to synchronize the needed actions in change management, corrective actions and quality improvement execution.

 

What you’ll bring

  • University degree with engineering background is essential, MSc preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive delivering large-scale, complex vehicles managing cross-functional teams for product development, execution, launch and delivery.
  • Preferred experience in Design Release and Program Management working in the automotive domain or another relevant product area.
  • Excellent communication (written, spoken) at all levels of the enterprise, especially in English is essential.
  • Software knowledge and execution experience is a plus.
