What you'll do
The Site SPM Engineer is responsible for an allocated set of supplier manufacturing locations. Main activities are focused on product and process performance at external suppliers, supporting both new programs and running production.

  • Be responsible for supplier quality assurance of suppliers located in Asia such as China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, India, etc.
  • Work closely with buyer and designer to support supplier assessment and nomination process including risk identification.           
  • Evaluate and approve supplier selection in new program. Engaged in CBP(Commodity Business Plan) process.            
  • Drive continuous improvements and resolution of systematic site concerns. 6. Provide site Lessons Learned to program and suppliers.        
  • Drive implementation of lean deployment, differences in technologies, amount and mature of suppliers (from small green field sites to multinational huge supplier), direct contact and interact with people on site in global countries and cultures.            
  • Participate in technical review with supplier.            
  • Lead supplier audit and development, follow up the closure of actions.
  • Train and support suppliers in using and implementing required quality assurance tool.
  • Approves and evaluate new and green field sites. Approval of product and process, quality and capacity, which leads to release of supplier payment for tooling. Approval of supplier PSW. Interact directly with plant & quality manager.            
  • Secure that VCC global supplier base fulfils quality and capacity requirements.            
  • Follow up the engineering change related to supplier process.
  • Lead problem solving for customer complaint.
  • Participate in the project meeting with cross function team.

 

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor or Above.
  • Electric or Electronics Engineering or related education.
  • Proficiency in English, oral and written.                
  • Ability to solve problems in a structured manner.  
  • Ability to manage multiple items at the same time without loosing focus or quality.        
  • Have a strong holistic view and high degree of courage, Integrity and business ethics.            
  • Feeling at home in an international and diverse environment.    
  • Positive attitude, resolute and high drive for results.        
  • Experienced in working cross-functionally.              
  • Have a strong drive, leadership and ability to proactively develop and improve the supplier base.                    
  • Excellent technical and analytic skills with extensive experience in supplier manufacturing processes.            
  • Very good communication (verbal and written) and social skills.    
  • Ability to travel 3-4 overnights stay per week.    
  • More than 4 years working experiences in well-known OEM or tier 1 supplier of automotive industry in supplier quality or quality related areas. Experienced in production/production technique, design and quality with good knowledge of Electric and Electrical products like following commodities, Cable Harness, Power Supply, Drive controls, Security & Body Electronics.
  • Active Safety Electronics, Infotainment System etc.
  • Good knowledge how to manage SPM IT and quality tools/systems/processes.            
  • Good knowledge of five core tools(PPAP/APQP/SPC/MSA/PFMEA).
  • Knowledge of quality management system, TS16949 internal auditor is preferred.            
  • Work according to 6 Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies., 6 sigma green belt or above is preferred.            
  • Good knowledge and practice of GD&T.           
  • Good problem solving skill, good practice of 8D, 5 WHY and continue improvement.
