What you'll do

Role Description:
Legal manager having one or more direct reports. In addition to work as legal counsel, assuming line management responsibility of a team, supervising work performance and ensuring adequate team development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Legal 8: Manage the provision of a significant legal service specialty.
• Leadership and Direction 7: Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
• Information and Business Advice 8: Provide authoritative specialist advice to senior managers at the business unit or regional level to enable the implementation of policy, projects, and change initiatives.
• Internal Client Relationship Management 8: Manage relationships with strategic internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and mobilizing appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
• Performance Management 7: Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
