What you’ll do

Volvo Cars China vehicle propulsion Dept. is looking for a design Senior Lead Engineer at Thermal Management System. As Senior Lead engineer you will not only closely cooperate with team and stakeholders, e.g. component responsible, System, Test and CAE engineer and suppliers etc, to define & design & delivery the cooling system for all types of vehicle application, but also extend the work into  verification, calibration, diagnostic area because of the transfer of the entire team's competence building.

• Secure the thermal system components to meet program technique/ timing/cost target from concept to J1.
• Take charge of activities and deliveries related to the technical issues within VCC and with suppliers.
• Cross function teamwork, and ensure alignment with interface groups including Head office, Program Office, Purchase, SPM(SQM), Homologation, Calibration, Attributes, etc
• Lead the thermal system & components development work in concept and industrialization phase
• Work closely with program team to secure the TTCQ deliveries towards program milestone
• Summarize and present the Deviations, Solutions, and escalating issues if necessary
• Program launch support, identify the root cause failures and countermeasures
• Work on the Cost Reduction and continuous quality improvement

Responsibilities will extend to verification, calibration, diagnostic area, such as:

• Develop the test scripts for both in-housing testing and testing by suppliers
• Maintain and update the Thermal management software requirement and specifications
• Conduct the detail inspection such as Pressure, temperature analyze to identify the root cause failure
• Calibrate and optimize the thermal management control to balance the thermal load, NVH, electrical parts energy consumption
• Create and modify calibration procedures
• Troubleshooting, calibrate the thermal management control in support of new projects
• Generate reports, records in calibration database
• Part of the team work for the test result analyze and define the solution.

What you’ll bring

• Very good understanding of Propulsion & Energy(Powertrain) working principle and thermal system functions.
• Experience with several of key components such as Cooling module, Fan, Pumps, Valves, etc.
• Good knowledge with the Product Development process.
• Good knowledge in Catia Design, and performance simulation
• Driving, structured, good analytical skills and a great technical interest
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
• Proactive and self-driven
• High integrity and professionalism
• Min. 6 years of experiences in flow / heat exchange / cooling system development work
• Any of verification, calibration, diagnostic knowledge & experience will be preferred
