Summary of the role:
You will work in a creative environment, in a section that is constantly looking for new challenges. Our mission is to develop systems and components in accordance with Volvo's standards and core values with focus on safety, quality and environment. Side and Roof has a large network of contacts and works closely together with other technical areas. The assignments are complex and vary from concept development to introduction of a car model in production.

 

What you will do?

  • Group Design Leader - Task Description
  • Ensures Side and Roof system deliveries incl. Door Structure, Door Mechatronics, Sealing, Capping, Front and Rear Windscreen, Roof, Side Door Glasses and Software according to plan in a determined task structure (TTCQ).
  • Lead the design tasks within a cross functional group. 
  • Ensures proper requirements and balances the requirements.
  • Lead the sourcing activities acc. To plan/cost/quality secured.
  • Ensures that primary and secondary documents (part folders,TR,3D models, drawing, ESOW)
  • Lead suppliers to deliver acc. To Volvo standard TTCQ.
  • Ensures the VP/TT/PP series and tests.
  • I am responsible to develop subsystem according to predefined prerequisites (Technology, Time and  Cost) aligned with vehicle program.
  • I am the representative for my product area towards the program and the main interface towards the Department Program Manager.
  • I am the leader of the cross functional program team, including supplier, for my product area.
  • I am responsible for the status reporting of my scope including risk management.
  • I am responsible to drive decisions to meet my technical, time and cost responsibilities.
  • I work according to VPDS (Volvo Product Development System), by using a technical logical plan.
  • I work according to routines within Engineering Framework.
  • I document the development progress.
  • I ensure together with the Engineering Manager that the design reviews are conducted within the task.
