Senior UX Designer

The Role

 

This role is within our Luxe by Volvo product team, which is using digital to reinvent car ownership and by making life less complicated for our customers and ultimately save their highly valued time. Owning a car or ordering a car on-demand should be integrated into your everyday life, and the services that support it should help make your life easier and save you time. The Luxe by Volvo team is focused on the logistics and customer experience in making that vision a reality. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people to join us within the Volvo organization.

 

As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product innovation to tweaking pixels right before launch. You will be expected to utilize your full range of design and research skills, and you will own the experience for your products. You will work collaboratively as part of a dedicated product team, alongside a product owner, software engineers, analysts, and part of a broader UX design community.

 

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our customer needs and pain-points, serving as an expert for your product team
  • Design the end-to-end customer experience for your area, crafting interaction models that remove complexity and add delight
  • Identify unmet customer needs and develop ideas for new and enhanced features
  • Deliver key design artifacts such as storyboards, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visuals
  • Possess a critical eye that looks to balance design aesthetics with intuitive functionality
  • Develop rapid prototypes and test them with users to understand and enhance your designs
  • Communicate your planned approach. Share your insights, ideas, and opinions with your stakeholders and team using data and customer insights
  • Collaborate with other designers to help raise the bar, impart knowledge, and ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Be an internal thought-leader on user experience best practices and trends
  • Advocate for our customers by stressing the importance of delivering a world-class user experience design

 

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of experience designing across platforms in a product design field
  • Possess thoughtful design processes that drive collaboration and validate new ideas with data and user insights
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates how your mastery of experience design has led to or improved real-world digital experiences
  • Strong interaction design skills that make the complex seem simple, elegant, and usable
  • Great visual design skills, with an innate attention to detail for typography, color, layout, use of imagery, and animation
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a tailored approach to suit the audiences
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and large-scale software development cycles
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, and other emerging design applications
  • Experience with UX writing, design languages, branding, materials, and textures are all a plus

  • You’re always engaging with the latest design and prototyping tools, constantly looking for ways to boost productivity and get from design to development faster
  • Strong ability to learn about and empathize with the people that use our products, and provide innovative design solutions to meet those needs
