Right now, we have an exciting job opening as a Senior Project Manager in our Uptime organization within Volvo Car Group. Uptime is tasked to create the next generation of seamless aftermarket operations for all our group brands and future customers. This will be the invisible thread that ties us all together, ensuring outstanding customer service on all levels as well as maximizing the potential for all cars and services.


What’s in it for you?

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager, responsible for implementing our customers’ requirements in the North American market. You would be managing all deliveries in close cooperation with the customer brand, the central Uptime organization as well as the local market in question. During 2019, the main focus will be on Polestar and their launch in the US and Canada.
The Uptime organization is in a build-up phase which will give you an exciting, ever-changing job in a global environment providing you with opportunities to develop both professionally and personally.


Principal responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and follow-up market implementation projects within the given scope, time and budget frame
  • Work with all relevant stakeholders to understand needs, dependencies and prioritizations. Communicate, share information and align with all concerned parties throughout the project
  • Secure and lead the needed project resources. This can also include external suppliers
  • Manage risks, issues and changes throughout the project
  • Evaluate the project after its completion e.g. through lessons learned
  • Contribute to process development and improvement of working procedures


Key competences

  • Excellent in communication both written and verbal
  • 5 – 7 years of project management experience as well as knowledge in Agile Project Management methodology.
  • Strong influencing, selling and negotiation skills as well as networking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects combined with – short, medium and long-term pipeline
  • Consultative approach
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Capability to act as a leader and to develop, manage and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and clients alike
  • University degree in relevant field



Personal Qualities

We are looking for customer centric leader who always strive to deliver the best outcomes for our customers. To be successful in this role you need to have experience in running projects – specifically focusing on quality and not quantity. Experience from the automotive industry and/or the aftermarket business is advantageous. Since Uptime as an organization within Volvo Car Group is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment as your scope may evolve. The role will require some traveling so you should be flexible to that.
