Customer Credit and Insurance Agent - Care by Volvo

Job Summary:   

The Customer Credit and Insurance Agent represents Volvo Car Financial Services (VCFS) by acting as the liaison between Volvo Car USA, VCFS, Volvo retailers and the customer.  This position is responsible for ushering the customer through the credit application and funding process while maintaining an exceptional customer experience. Additionally, this position is the licensed insurance representative for VCFS and directly speaks to consumers related to any questions that come up regarding the insurance coverage and insurance eligibility that is part of the Care by Volvo program.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review daily credit application submissions received through the direct to consumer portal
  • Evaluate declined applications for eligibility to resubmit with a qualified co-applicant and communicate with the customer
  • Communicate and explain any reasons for a declined credit application to the customer upon their request
  • Request and explain any credit stipulations associated with the approval from the customer
  • Coordinate the review of customer submitted credit stipulations with the VCFS underwriting team to clear prior to customer delivery
  • Maintain oversite of the VCFS Care by Volvo consumer email inbox and manage as necessary
  • Monitor any outstanding credit applications that have expired during the ordering process and communicate with the customer to resubmit for credit review
  • Validate any credit application information with the consumer prior to delivery
  • Manage contract funding process with VCFS and communicate with the customer/retailer if any further information is needed to complete the funding process
  • Handle any customer concerns/complaints related to the credit application or funding process
  • The position is required to obtain and maintain an individual insurance producer's license, and part of the role involves communication with consumers related to insurance coverage and the overall insurance eligibility process.

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management.
  • 1-3 years of automotive experience; F&I or Sales preferred.
  • Retail banking experience in consumer loans, mortgage, and/or credit
  • Customer-centric attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand consumer credit bureaus
  • Results-oriented – works towards goals, setting high standards for self and others
  • Proven problem solving and customer service skills in a financial services environment
  • Experience understanding, structuring and negotiating finance transactions
  • Influential and persuasive with strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Strong technical skills in automotive financing
