Job Summary:   


As the Business Intelligence Product Owner in our Data Management department, you will be an integral contributor to the digital transformation of Volvo Cars USA, a leading disruptor in the automotive industry.  You will be integral to driving agile methodologies and best practices.  You will also work closely with different stakeholders in the business to gather requirements and build out Power BI visualizations that will continue to inspire a richer data-driven culture at Volvo.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Running scrum meetings for the two teams in the Data Management department (Business Intelligence and Data Integration) to drive agile development, providing project direction and performance management
  • Conducting Business Intelligence BA work, including Power BI report development
    • Work with stakeholders to identify KPIs and gather analytics requirements
    • Create design deliverables for new reports and dashboards
    • Test reports to ensure optimal user experience and data accuracy
    • Investigate and solve any data discrepancies
    • Craft training materials and provide change management support for the user community
    • Direct, organize, and promote self-service BI strategy within the organization
    • Assist users with developing ad-hoc Power BI reports to support business questions
    • Develop Power BI visualizations, reports, and dashboards to tell stories and uncover insights with data


Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • Experience with agile for IT implementations and familiarity with Microsoft DevOps (or a similar tool for agile project management)
  • Flexibility balancing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as you will be collaborating with multiple people and groups
  • Comfortable adapting to changing business situations and priorities
  • Process-oriented; exceptional organizational and follow-through skills; attention to detail
  • Passion for delivering data solutions that result in business value
  • Excellent working with business stakeholders to understand processes and documenting requirements
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards with Power BI or a similar analytics tool
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, 5-7 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Analytics, Business IT, or related field preferred
  • Automotive experience is helpful
