The Process Engineer will be responsible leading, developing, and coordinating change work within Paint shop including, robot application parameters to ensure high and stable FTT and optimal material consumption (according to specification).  This individual will be the main point of contact between external/internal customers/suppliers and the Production teams as well as in all product/process changes that affect robot programming and application parameters as well as manual processes within the assigned area.  They will optimize, in a proactive and responsive way, Product and Process solutions for a waste free production flow, by teams with high technical competence operating in a great work environment. They will act as a bridge between Production and Central Manufacturing Engineering.

What you'll do

  • Support and help production to achieve the QDFIPS-targets.
  • Secure flawless introduction of running changes and Special Vehicles.
  • Secure flawless introduction of car programs.
  • Ensure optimal robot programs are in place and function correctly.
  • Ensure optimal manual processes are in place operate smoothly with minimal waste.
  • Support and help production in line balancing due to rationalizations, line speed changes and introduction of new products/processes and capacity investigations.
  • Drive quality improvements for current models together with R&D, ME, Production, and Maintenance resources with regards to manufacturing deliveries.
  • Drive car launch programs to ensure a flawless introduction of all new projects into the production departments.
  • Support and train for robotic application and programming
  • Support production in their work with first line analysis, when expertise is needed.
  • During launch provide necessary input from running production
  • Ensure high and stable FTT as well as optimal material consumption.
  • Be a link between external/internal customers/suppliers.
  • Ensure major changes with respect to programming application and process changes are quality assured.
  • Participate and ensure the planning work on how a new model or change should be introduced.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing engineering to ensure current status in programming includes best practices. 
  • Participate in the design, selection, and debugging of the new project systems within the related areas.
  • Provide work instructions for operators within the paint shop, including robot operators, referencing Technical Regulations and Specifications

What you'll bring

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience
  • Kaizen Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred or commiserate experience
  • 2 or more years’ experience as a process engineer in manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing/automotive industry
  • AutoCAD and other related robotic and design programming knowledge 
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • Communication, collaboration and negotiation skills with internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally
  • Working experience in an international and diverse environment is a plus
  • Affinity of Industrial Engineering processes 
  • Work in a team oriented environment 
  • Target oriented and strong analytical skills 
  • Well organized working methods and ability to report in a structured and concise format 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work and to manage multiple tasks 
  • Positive mind-set and pro-active attitude, self-starter.
  • Ability to interact cross-functionally and to act in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience with robot programming on-line is preferred
  • Experience with application methods for the different materials applied in robot stations is preferred
  • Knowledge of Durr Robotics or similar for offline programming preferred
  • Strong business acumen, drive & ambition.
  • Product and process knowledge.
  • Ability to take innovative approaches to improve processes and solve problems.
  • High school diploma or GED required
