Plant Procurement Team Engineer

The Plant Procurement Team Engineer will act as a primary interface between Plant and Procurement on all supplier variability issues (Quality & Delivery). The role will primarily be collaborating with Plant Quality teams, Category teams, R&D and other stakeholders locally and globally to minimize supplier quality, delivery, and warranty impact to the customer.

What you'll do

•    Collaborate with plant stakeholders to secure supplier containment and minimize impact to plant production. 
•    Review and approve 8D root cause and corrective actions from suppliers to address quality and delivery issues. 
•    Evaluate data to identify potential risks and systemic improvement areas for suppliers in order to develop improvement strategies with the cross-functional team. 
•    Initiate intensified plant activities in plant for underperforming suppliers and drive meetings with suppliers and internal teams. 
•    Support manufacturing with 2nd line problem solving analysis by utilizing problem solving methodology to solve day to day issues. 
•    Support PPL and Procurement Launch Leader with new program launches in plants. • Support with global and local OKR initiatives and strategies. 
•    Provide internal and external training in area of my competences.
 

What you'll bring

Knowledge/Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or proven equivalent experience.
•    Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Quality Engineering, Production, or Manufacturing. 
•    Strong understanding of problem-solving methodologies and applied skills. 
•    Intermediate level knowledge of Control Plans and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) 
•    Understanding of one or more of the following manufacturing processes: Interior manufacturing, injection molding, stamping and welding.
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Experience from the automotive industry in plant supplier quality, supplier development, logistics, or supply chain is strongly preferred. 
•    Green belt, black belt, or quality certification. 
•    Intermediate level knowledge of the PPAP process.
