Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the daily management and development of the maintenance group. This position will organize and lead the group to maintain the equipment in an effective level of running, according to the status of equipment and the priorities of the maintenance superintendent. This position will also have a strong focus on continuous improvement.
   

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the execution of the technical maintenance functions and maintenance technical management in order to optimize the availability and cost control of the production assets, according the VCMS principle of Value Driven Maintenance
  • Ensure your team clearly understand the company direction and their role in supporting this through effective usage of the Policy Deployment process (includes mission, vision, strategy, targets, rules and regulations).
  • Be responsible for developing and running the Performance Management System for your team including preparation of performance reports and team boards.
  • Continuously develop the competence of your team through training, on-the-job coaching and 1 to 1 development. You are the principle coach for your team and you must provide timely feedback on improvement areas.
  • Provide your team a safe, reliable, and well-organized workplace and secure that the relevant laws, regulations and procedures are followed by all team members.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standards within your area to remove variability and thus create stability for you and your team, providing greater opportunity to achieve targets.
  • Consistently use the visualization standards in order to provide transparency on performance and challenges in your area.
  • Build your team’s Lean capability in order to understand their process and what good process performance looks like in your area.
  • Work proactively with a cross-functional team in order to understand the impact from you to others in the production flow, continually focusing on reducing bottlenecks, minimizing losses in order to maintain a high level of stability, flow and as a result cost control.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role
  • 5+ years maintenance Supervisory experience
  • 5S/Lean experience
  • 5+ years Automotive experience preferred
  • Safety and quality focused
