Logistics Supervisor

What you'll do

  • Supervisor manages high performing team within Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management.  Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of production and operating team members.
  • Foster the growth and development of team members to help them reach their full potential, ensuring individual and organization success within Volvo Cars.
  • Drive the training strategy for your team, ensuring the necessary skill sets and competencies are developed. 
  • Provide consistent coaching and feedback to cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure and take full ownership of team performance, driving improvements and managing outcomes related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Environmental (SQD&E) targets.
  • Act as the first responder to your team’s needs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Identify areas for growth and work with team members to build skills, competencies, and engagement.
  • Leadership in Real-Time Management: Identify key metrics for Real Time Management and effectively manage and execute strategies. Use quick decision-making, respond to challenges, and use a results-driven approach to identifying and addressing gaps.
  • Operate and enforce company compliance standards, terms and instructions (ex. BMS, VCMS and ISO standards 9001 & 14001)
  • Lead the team to engage and verify that planned actions are in place and followed to reach team targets while continuously looking to improve these targets (ex. Scorecard).
  • Create motivational environment. Recognize and celebrate team achievements.
  • Monitor, coach and train Standardized Work to ensure consistency and quality.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years leadership experience required
  • Bachelors degree or manufacturing experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Uses 5S as the standard
  • Real Time Management, setup of process and utilization
  • Understands standardized work
  • Ability to coach and train team members
  • Lean manufacturing (TPS experience)
  • Andon, purpose and utilization
  • Problem solving experience
  • Continuous improvement mindset and methods
  • Ability to perform audits
  • Continuous alignment and feedback, ability to create development plans
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrates ability to effectively resolve conflicts and collaborate across various functions and teams.
