Heavy Repair Technician

Job Summary:

The Volvo Cars Heavy Repair Technician is directly responsible for the panel fit, metal, weld and, dent repairs on unpainted and painted finished automobile bodies.   Open positions available on first and second shifts.

 

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 3 years directly related automotive industry experience in the following areas: 

  • Metal finish
  • Painted Dent Repair (PDR)
  • Weld prep for newly completed vehicle
  • Experience with Weld Repair (Incomplete Weld, Missing Weld, Damaged Weld)
  • Experience with Weld / Body specific Part Replacement (brackets, weld studs, T-studs, Ground Studs, Spot Welds, Laser Welds, sheet metal, etc.)

 

Certifications:

  • Must be welder certified  

 

 Other qualifications:

  • Must meet physical requirements such as standing for extended periods, bending, squatting or kneeling
  • Must be able to lift up to 33 lbs. unassisted 


Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or equivalent)
