The Buyer – IDP Logistics executes operational purchasing activities of IDP to support stakeholders within Logistics commodities (SCM/IBL, OBL, MP&L, PS&L, etc.), to support the implementation of strategic sourcing results and to promote the operational efficiency. Work closely with the stakeholders to execute procurement activities. Implement contracts, agreements, and new processes. Support and develop efficient standardized req-to-pay processes.

What you'll do

 

Perform procurement according to defined strategies and frameworks
-  Review purchase requisitions, identify and select contracts suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and agreements. Place orders. 
-  Advise stakeholders on procurement processes & issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle 
-  Advise stakeholders of modifications from original requests (if alternative, more cost efficient, or otherwise beneficial alternatives exist) 
-  Negotiate and sign agreements 

 

Participate as required in global and regional strategic sourcing projects
-  Provide market data and information to strategic sourcing teams 
-  Validate completeness and relevance of RFI/RFQ 
-  Support in the evaluation and selection of suppliers 
-  Work in close collaboration with purchasing managers and stakeholders, to ensure acceptance and implementation of the sourcing strategy.
-  Actively participate in the validation of the sourcing strategy implementation approach 
-  Actively participate in the implementation of new contracts 
-  Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contracts compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance. 
-  Continuously drive/support cost reductions, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and find business opportunities in collaboration with Purchasing managers and stakeholders. 

 

Drive procurement initiatives and manage sourcings outside defined strategies
-  Perform sourcing activities according to IDP sourcing process 
-  Perform necessary market analysis to support the sourcing activity 
-  Screen, short list and select potential suppliers through a RFI and RFQ process 
-  Develop negotiation tactics and lead supplier negotiations 
-  Work with stakeholders and suppliers in order to resolve issues 
-  Continuously track supplier performance with stakeholder on quality and cost 
-  Initiate and conduct supplier evaluations and supplier audits 

 

Drive operational efficiency
-  Take an active role in develop and supporting efficient standardized req-to-pay processes 
-  Support implementation of new processes and systems, QA and CSR & sustainability requirements 

What you'll bring

 

-  Multiyear purchasing experience (minimum of 1-3 yrs), with focus on indirect procurement of Logistics Services and Products.

-  University degree or equivalent experience in Engineering and/or Business

-  Strong ability to lead, motivate, engage and influence others

-  Experience in SAP or equivalent system.

-  Solid project management skills/experience on complex sourcings.

-  Excellent interpersonal skills

-  Good computer skills in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

-  Ability to take innovative approaches to improve processes and solve problems

-  Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

-  Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred

-  Automotive industry experience is preferred
