About us @ Vehicle Engineering hub.

The Vehicle Engineering hub is located in the US and belongs locally to the US Quality organization but reports globally to Vehicle Engineering at our headquarters in Gothenburg.  We are an impactful team of 10 members with wide competencies and responsibilities from managing proving ground testing to advanced fault tracing in our upcoming vehicle models. Our focus area is to validate and verify consumer value of Products and Services from different consumer perspectives based on relevant US consumer journeys and use cases. Our Validation team is focused on summative evaluation where we blend user needs and user goals with product capabilities to confirm that the consumer value of a product or service is met accordingly. Besides our extensive experience within our rocking team members, we use both qualitative and quantitative data as strong sources.

At the Vehicle Engineering hub, we are responsible for leading Validation testing for US, supporting the HQ and local Quality team with necessary data and knowledge about coming products, supporting visitors from HQ, organizing and supporting expeditions and managing proving ground testing. specifications. Test scope varies from detailed reporting of deviations and faults in our reporting tools, to performing pure mileage and cycle accumulation tests.
The test methods cover a wide range of areas, but the primary areas of testing are Validation testing and testing of car functions.  Occasional participation in expeditions might also be necessary.
As a test driver you will be responsible for planning your workday to meet customer expectations. You will participate in our internal education program and after approximately 1 year you should strive to qualify for more demanding test driving.

  • Be able to represent the customer in the specific project/segment and provide a customer-oriented perspective on the complete vehicle experience
  • Deliver mileage and deviation reports to the complete vehicle projects
  • Be comfortable with travel up to 2-4 weeks

Competence is important

  • High school diploma with technical education or equivalent work experience
  • Candidate must possess a general understanding of Software Defined Vehicles(SDVs), including how software is integrated into vehicle architecture, the role of over-the-air(OTA) updates, and the importance of software in the vehicle functionality and user experience.

  • Driver’s license with clean driving record

But personality is key

As a test driver you will work both independently as well as in close collaboration with our customers, team members, other teams, and organizations. To succeed in the role as a person you should have a positive and pro-active mind set alongside being communicative, encouraging, open-minded and sensitive to customer needs.

We think you, as a person, have a structured way of working, are good at planning and are adjustable to constant changes. Being committed, paying attention to details, and providing a customer focused perspective on the products is something that comes natural for you.
