Process & Implementation Engineer (US, Canada, Sweden, Brazil)

Northlake, TX

 

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a skilled Process & Implementation Engineer specialized in electrical/high voltage battery technology, to ensure alignment with service & repair instructions used by Battery Center technicians locally at US BC. This role will reside within the US Battery Center and will specifically own the Process & Implementation of new variants/changes to be followed by the workshop team. This individual will also be responsible for all aspects of equipment and tooling for the facility. This position will require on-site support to the facility in Northlake, TX & will report to the Head of US Battery Lifecycles Services Team.

 

A Day in the life:

  • Developing the approach to implementation of the high-voltage battery repair process & procedures for all battery pack repair lines.
  • Ownership of the change management process as repair functionality increases at the Battery Center. Direct line of interaction with the BC Manager to ensure the team is equipped, tooled, and full prepared for process changes in parallel with battery variance.
  • Assisting with the development of maintenance charging processes for battery inventory within the US market, not limited to Dallas Battery storage spaces.
  • Continually strive to improve the repair facility processes with the BC Manager, Method Engineer & Global team to drive more efficient results.
  • Provide support in developing process gaps for battery repairs, neutralization, handling of battery materials to support the Battery Center and the retailer network.
  • Handling some logistics, order processing, material traceability management responsibilities.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams with Battery Centers within US VCSB.
  • You will manage your working time according to the project timeline, actively involved gathering information from other teams & collaborate.

 

What you will bring to Volvo:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical engineering (or technical related field) with 3+ years proven equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical or electrical position – Experience as an electrician, electrical engineer, in battery technology, knowledge of high voltage batteries or related experiences.
  • General knowledge on electric vehicles and an ability to interact with our technical team regarding repair methods, procedures, and tools.
  • Strong background in process and procedure development and improvements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Power Point and Excel skills.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally. (Approximately 30%)

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written presentation, and communication skills.
  • An ability to work with complex topics and steer discussion at the appropriate level of detail.
  • It would be beneficial to have the experience working with projects, related to high voltage vehicles/batteries.
  • Ability to drive change and influence people & synthesize complex topics into easy-to-understand terms.
