Compensation and Benefits Manager

Job Description:

  • Manage total rewards programs and initiatives for Volvo Cars Technology USA to ensure alignment with the company’ overall business strategy, priorities and culture;
  • Design and administration of all employee benefit programs including insurance, retirement plans and time off programs;
  • Develop creative culture and retention initiatives;
  • Become the in-house expert on all things compensation;
  • Lead the preparation and communication of information to new hires, current and former employees about benefit programs, changes, and government-mandated disclosures;
  • Maintain knowledge of government regulations, benefit and compensation program trends and practices among similar organizations;
  • Track and manage all “leaves of absence” such as FMLA, personal leaves, short-term disability, etc.;
  • Perform 5500 Audits and any other audits that may arise;
     

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human resources, business or related field;
  • 8+ years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years in areas of compensation and benefits;
  • Experienced leading compensation design changes from concept to execution;
  • Deep knowledge of all applicable federal and state laws including ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, etc.;  
  • Total rewards nerd: you love all things related to compensation and benefits and stay up-to-date on industry trends;
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty and do “whatever it takes”;
  • Able to break down complex concepts and get buy-in at all levels;
  • Start-up and/or hyper-growth company experience.
