Data & Reporting Manager

Who are we?
Volvo Car Financial Services UK (VCFSUK) is a financial services joint venture business, part-owned by Volvo Cars and Santander Consumer Finance, operating across the UK Volvo retailer network, and also supporting Polestar and London Electric Vehicle Company. The role is based at the Volvo Car UK head office in Maidenhead and reports directly to the IT & Operations Director.

 

 

What you’ll do
The primary responsibilities of the Data and Reporting Manager are to form and manage relationships, identify, plan, coordinate, and manage all activities related to the integration of data across various sources, to form an organised and unified view. The role will be responsible for day-to-day reporting, data management, data strategy and the data landscape that underpins VCFSUK’s business operations.
You will develop, in line with the company’s strategic roadmap, a data strategy that supports all of the business units in VCFSUK. Project managing of the implementation of initiatives designed to support the data strategy and develop and execute a plan to maximize self-service capabilities for internal users and customers. Responsible for implementing a formal data governance approach and increasing the maturity of the enterprise data capability and environment.


The role is responsible for ensure the production of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, together with automated consolidated views for business users. This includes company balanced scorecards and summarised performance views. You will ensure the availability of quality and timely data in line with business needs as well as ensuring the data landscape is effective and fit for purpose, using appropriate technologies and tools.


You will have line management responsibility for two data analysts. Including the provision of support, personal and professional development as well as mentoring. As a team, you will ensure data is managed in a safe and secure manner and all data infrastructure is compliant and protected.

 


Do you fit the profile?
Our ideal candidate will have experience in project management methodologies such as AGILE and Prince2, as well as tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira. Experience in Python would be an added benefit. You will have strong communication skills with an ability to communicate issues and change to colleagues in the business, whilst also having the skills and experience to work closely with technical teams.


Experience in organisational change management through running significant change initiatives is essential for the role, ideally gained in the Automotive Captive Finance market, or similar. In addition to this, an understanding of data management principles and knowledge of SQL, VBA and data extraction and manipulation methods are considered essential, coupled with knowledge and experience of reporting tools (Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI, SAS).


You will have excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines and strong prioritisation skills and ability to deliver product improvement. You will ideally be educated to Degree level or higher and/or possess equivalent experience. You should be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills including influencing skills along with proven presentation and facilitation skills.
