Job Purpose

This role is part of our Connected Car team that sits within the local US based Digital organization and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the connected consumer experience within the Americas region. This includes working with Android based infotainment, vehicle software, Volvo Cars mobile app and our legacy car platforms. Working in a global capacity alongside our partners we support the rollout, development, validation & support of new products or services that have a US market specific impact.

 

Ideally, a Senior MNO Technical Operations Engineer must have experience with following the product lifecycle of IoT technology and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience in 3G/4G/5G cellular technologies.

 

This role will primarily be focused on technical implementation and delivery (within our market) but will also require participation in day-to-day business activities such as supplier account & performance management. Acting as the primary local SME, your primary focus will be to drive the development / implementation of a selected MNO in the Americas region and then manage the MNO service delivery accordingly. You will have an active part in resolving product problems affecting our customers as well as participate in system testing and support Incident Management and Supplier teams.

 

It is essential to have commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design and the creation of quality products through working across different technical product teams which include the digital organization as a whole & global R&D teams.

Additional Responsibility:

  • Participate in system testing and support Incident Management and Supplier Management teams (an active part in resolving product problems affecting our customers).
  • Perform detailed analysis of performance behavior of the Volvo connected service and identify escalations where required for deeper problem-solving activities.
  • Define specifications for the continuing development of Volvo Cars MNO Performance Management platform.
  • Work with sourcing team to secure technical scope within the MNO contracts.
  • Follows the product lifecycle and evolving cellular products towards the future needs of Volvo Cars
  • Prepare technical system design recommendations for e2e solutions.

 

Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Software / Technology or similar
  • 5-8 years working in telecommunication or IoT industry either from the network or device (equipment) side.
