The logistics function Parts Supply & Logistics (PS&L) within Supply Chain Management is responsible for making sure spare parts and accessories are available for customers world-wide to enable a hassle-free consumer experience. The responsibility covers the procurement, storage and distribution of spare parts and accessories to Volvo Cars customers globally and includes operational control of all Volvo-owned parts inventory, warehouse management and transportation, as well as the long-term development of the global logistics process.

 

What you will do:

The US based Project Manager will work as an extension of the central Project Management Office for PS&L and focus on the projects needed for the US and Canadian markets.  The Project Management Office drives the strategic projects aimed at improving overall supply chain performance.  The US based position will lead the transformation of our distribution center network to ensure that we can meet and exceed the needs of the business.

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to interact with stakeholders across Volvo Cars including Service Business, Digital, Distribution Centers, Forecast & Planning, and others.  More specifically, you will:

  • Lead cross functional supply chain projects
  • Initiate, develop, and implement strategic parts logistics concepts and processes
  • Develop, educate, implement and maintain new strategies, routines, methods, tools, and IT systems
  • Represent PS&L in cross functional project
  • Represent Volvo Cars in external projects

The position reports to the Director of Parts Supply and Logistics for the US and Canada. The position is based out of our US Headquarters in Mahwah, NJ.  This position will work closely with our Distribution Centers throughout the US and Canada as well as the central PS&L organization in Sweden.  Moderate travel will be required.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead cross functional supply chain projects
  • Initiate, develop, and implement strategic parts logistics concepts and processes
  • Develop, educate, implement and maintain new strategies, routines, methods, tools, and IT systems
  • Represent PS&L in cross functional project
  • Represent Volvo Cars in external projects

 

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management (or related field) or 10+ years proven equivalent work experience.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.
  • Significant project management experience and experience leading teams. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Power Point and Excel skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to drive change, build strong relationships and influence people
