We are seeking a highly motivated and business-savvy lawyer to join our Americas legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing sophisticated legal advice across a multitude of topics and matters  
• Working directly with key stakeholders from various functions to provide proactive and pragmatic support for business objectives and strategic initiatives
• Sharing knowledge and best practices
• Identifying efficiencies and driving continuous improvements
• Proactively identifying relevant legal developments and sharing within both the legal and business teams as appropriate
• Managing external legal counsel in an efficient and cost-effective manner

The Commercial and Litigation legal counsel position is based at our US headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Who You Are. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and collaborative with high integrity and a pragmatic approach. We also want to work with talented people of diverse backgrounds and with different perspectives. Qualifications include:

• 10+ years of experience as a lawyer, with at least 3-5 years at a law firm, handling sophisticated matters, in-house experience is a plus
• Strong experience in handling commercial matters across subject matters, including transactional matters and commercial contracts
• Experience with litigation matters a plus
• Proven ability to navigate complex matters and provide pragmatic advice
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, without losing sight of the big picture
• A team player with ability to work independently and to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• A proactive and customer-oriented mindset, with the ability to provide high-quality legal support with limited supervision and often under time pressure
• Creativity in dealing with complex legal issues, and the ability to move projects forward by gaining needed support
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex issues in a simple way to business partners and other stakeholders
