What We Are Looking For:

Business Controller, Customer Service is responsible for managing the reporting of actuals, budgets, and forecasts for the customer service business.  This position will be responsible for business continuity between the various departments within the organization to ensure that the financials correctly reflect the activities within the customer service operations.  This role requires an analytical individual who will be able to assist in driving financial reviews and keep continuous dialogue with the business units to understand and challenge financial and operational performance.

 

A day in the life:

  • Accurately consolidate, submit, and perform analysis of annual business plans, budgets, and forecasts for customer service operations
  • Continuous maintenance and upkeep of full year profit outlook to bring awareness of changes and potential risks and opportunities to annual market earnings target
  • Conduct analysis of financial performance vs. budget, forecast and prior/sequential actual periods. Evaluate major drivers and fluctuation for period variances and other relevant benchmarks
  • Drive strong financial focus throughout the CS business department to maximize profits and bottom-line growth
  • Identify and deliver profit opportunities within the CS operations
  • Monitor CS daily and monthly actuals performance against budget and forecast to provide timely guidance to VCUSA, VCC, and Customer Service management.
  • Work with GOB (accounting) to ensure complete and accurate monthly closing process
  • Present financial topics/results to senior leadership and finance community
  • Contribute to work in other areas of the business under the Business Management team
  • Special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

 

What You Will Bring to Volvo:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business/related field
  • 5+ years relevant experience of Financial Planning and Analysis, with an emphasis on variance analysis and financial statement analysis required
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems required (SAP and Hyperion experience preferred) and advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proven record of working with a team in a highly collaborative environment that spans across multiple markets/regions with effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, operational discipline, ability to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Must have ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations
  • Ability to present technical concepts in a clear & concise manner to varied audiences
