Let's introduce ourselves

You will join the Test engineering section in ‘Core System Application Software (CSAS)’ department within the broad Volvo Cars Engineering organization. We are responsible for Test governance, development of Software-In-Loop (SIL) test framework, tests and test tooling for the software in the High-Performance core system of the Vehicle computer unit. We set Test strategy, Test architecture, deliverables, frameworks, patterns, and policies related to software quality. We are leading with an initiative called Test Case Library to make software quality status transparent, improve test coverage, facilitate test reuse and provide technical enablers to deploy tests in both SIL and HIL (Hardware-In-Loop) environments. We also act as development support by working together with teams to succeed with development and integration.

The location is Lund, Sweden.

What you'll do

As a Test lead/ Scrum Master, you will be an important part of the Test Engineering section within CSAS. You will work together with the Engineering manager to create a high-performance organization. We are relying on our Scrum Masters to be servant leaders and coach the teams using agile team practices with a focus on flow and taking lead in continuous improvements. As a Scrum Master you will also be the technical interface to the team and work closely with the RTE tracking features and potential issues in Jira. You will also be responsible to make sure the different systems are updated and that the team is fulfilling their team responsibilities. You should understand technical details in the team’s backlog and see how they fit into the big picture. As a Test lead you will track test operations, report test results and drive engagement towards other development and software infrastructure teams distributed across the big Volvo Cars organization.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage multiple project topics and focus areas, report overall test status and other quality metrics
  • Engage with multiple engineering teams to follow up and facilitate test development and automation
  • Coach and lead the teams within the Test Engineering work area and ensure a healthy work environment and team spirit
  • Drive identified operational topics together with other Agile leaders in the ART
  • Foster transparency in the team and ensure clear communication from the team
  • Facilitate the team’s progress by focusing on improving performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity as well as staying focused on the team’s iteration goals
  • Facilitate team meetings like the daily stand-up, iteration planning, demo, and retrospective
  • Support the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog with respect to priorities and scope
  • Communicate with management and stakeholders, collaborate with other Scrum Masters to learn, and improve your own profession
  • Facilitate preparation and readiness for ART ceremonies like PI Planning, System Demos, and the Inspect and Adapt
  • Pitch in with hands-on work as needed during some phases in the project

What you'll bring

 

We are looking for you who is a solution-oriented driver at heart and a true servant leader with an agile mindset. Skills you should have:

  • Several years of Project management experience. PMP certification preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience from working with Software Development
  • At least 5 years of experience from working as Scrum Master or Agile leader
  • Experience leading Test related activities
  • Experience related to CI/CD operations
  • Experience managing international team(s)
  • Excellent networker and cross-functional team player with a can-do mindset
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to convey effectively and in a simple manner
  • Hands-on experience with Python or other programming languages
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Meritorious

  • Experience within Automotive or safety critical industry and from working in an international environment
  • Knowledge or awareness of ASPICE or other Software Development Processes
  • Experience from creating visualization and reporting dashboards
