What we build is a fully electric, connected, and super safe Volvo Car. But the software architecture in our latest cars is complex. And ensuring excellent software quality adhering to the defined architecture and software standards is of utmost importance.
What you'll do
You will join the Test engineering section in ‘Core System Application Software (CSAS)’ department within the broad Volvo Cars Engineering organization. We are responsible for Test governance, development of Software-In-Loop (SIL) test framework, tests and test tooling for the software in the High-Performance core system of the Vehicle computer unit. We set Test strategy, Test architecture, deliverables, frameworks, patterns, and policies related to software quality. We are leading with an initiative called Test Case Library to make software quality status transparent, improve test coverage, facilitate test reuse and provide technical enablers to deploy tests in both SIL and HIL (Hardware-In-Loop) environments. We also act as development support by working together with teams to succeed with development and integration.
The location is Lund, Sweden.
Main responsibilities
• Develop Test strategies together with engineering teams and communicate to the broader organisation
• Develop Test architecture in accordance with the product software architecture to facilitate shift-left iterative testing
• Evangelise Test Case Library and drive engagement and contribution into it from various engineering teams
• Support engineering teams in Test development - review Test cases and automated test execution
• Support Test governance and Quality Assurance activities to ensure quality on main software branch
• Create and maintain scope for integration testing
• Represent ‘CSAS Test engineering section’ in various internal fora and support software test initiatives
• Navigate ambiguity, complexity and provide technical direction
• Pitch in with hands-on work as needed
What you'll bring
We are looking for you who is a solution-oriented driver at heart and is a natural with Technical leadership. You are humble, proactive, collaborative and have a quality-oriented mindset. Skills you should have:
• At least 10 years of experience from working with Software Development
• At least 4 years of experience as a Test architect or similar role
• Experience developing Test strategies for large scale embedded software development
• Experience in Test & Test framework development, Test analysis and Test automation in CI/CD operations
• Experience building Software-in-loop Test infrastructure
• Hands-on development experience in Python, PyTest, C/C++
• Strong communication, strategic thinking, multitasking, problem-solving, and planning skills
• Excellent networker and cross-functional team player with a can-do mindset
• Fluency in spoken and written English
Meritorious:
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR, ASPICE, V-Model, ISO 26262, CAN/LIN (automotive)
• Experience with Requirements management
• Knowledge of Configuration management, Branching, Variant management
• Bazel, Ansible
• Experience within automotive and from working in an international environment
• Experience from creating Test metrics visualization and reporting dashboards
