This role is within our Commercial Digital team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. What you will do:

You will be responsible for developing Back-end software for consumer-facing and internal products across more than 100 countries. We create the end-to-end experience for online sales/subscriptions of cars, global campaigns as well as frameworks for other parts of Volvo Cars. You are experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices.

As a Senior Java Developer at our Krakow Tech Hub, you will be a part of an agile team, working closely with other software engineers, testers and architects. The hub will be a key software development center and play a crucial role in our strategic ambition to be a leader in new technology.

Who you are:

We seek candidates with a startup background, demonstrating proficiency in rapidly prototyping and driving product development within dynamic environments. As a hands-on developer specialized in backend operations, you possess extensive experience in agile methodologies and advocate for software development best practices.

We require candidates with a minimum of four years of professional experience in Java development, particularly with Java 21 and later versions. Additionally, proficiency in working with the Sprint Framework, Kafka and distributed systems is essential. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Microservice architecture, REST API design principles, Swagger/OpenAPI, CI/CD pipelines (specifically Github Actions), various databases *such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) are highly desirable. Fluent English proficiency is a must.
