Let's introduce ourselves
This role combines the responsibilities of the Office and Factory On-Site Support roles to deliver comprehensive L2 IT support within a manufacturing environment.
Support Engineer acts as an escalation point for Service Desk (L1), owns complex incidents, and supports production-critical IT systems. The role works closely with global digital IT teams as well as local plant functions such as Plant Engineering and Facility Management, ensuring alignment between global standards and local operational needs.
Location: Valaliky Industrial Park, Kosice district, Slovakia
Work hours: Shift-based aligned with factory production hours, including night shifts
What you'll do
Build on our future global plant infrastructure IT landscape and participate in delivering global digital infrastructure solutions according to the global standards.
In doing so, you will:
- Act as Level 2 escalation for production-impacting factory IT incidents, both in person and via Service-Now tickets;
- Monitor factory systems, infrastructure, and devices using Zabbix, analyze alerts, and proactively prevent incidents;
- Support and optimize endpoint and device management using SCCM, SNOW, MobiControl;
- Manage OS deployment, patching, and imaging using SCCM, MDT and WSUS;
- Troubleshoot industrial and factory devices (industrial PCs, thin clients, handhelds, printers, barcode scanners, forklift terminals, or similar);
- Verify system and application communication, including basic network and firewall connectivity checks (ports, reachability, traffic flow), escalating to network teams when required;
- Participate in major incident management, taking technical ownership during critical production disruptions;
- Support changes, rollouts, upgrades, and maintenance activities in factory environments;
- Assist with endpoint security, patching, and compliance for office devices;
- Support onboarding-related office IT topics as needed;
- Enroll, prepare, install, and configure IT equipment;
- Own and contribute to Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities;
- Document root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned;
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles;
- Support major incident management and lead resolution during critical IT disruptions;
- Be responsible for lessons learned management, share best practices and knowledge, and coach the team members.
What you'll bring
- Several years of previous working experience in the daily operations in a similar L2 IT operations or system support position, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment;
- Strong hands-on experience with factory IT systems and endpoint management;
- Preferred university education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, as well as additional qualifications in the form of relevant certifications (nice to have), such as: CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CISM, MS Certified AZ/SC, CompTIA (A+, Security+).
- Basic understanding and practical knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change);
- Server OS: Basic knowledge of Server Operating systems, such as Linux, Windows, and (optional) OpenVMS;
- Client OS: Windows 7/10/11;
- DC Facilities: Server room components like Power, UPS;
- AD: Maintaining accounts/clients in Active Directory and maintaining GPOs;
- Network: LAN setup, including wireless & at least firewall concepts;
- Desktop Security: Antivirus deployment and update, patch management, monitoring, and reporting;
- Desktop, Laptop, Handheld devices: OS deployment / provisioning, common application installation and troubleshooting, hardware knowledge, disposal (disk wipe);
- Printers: Managing local & network printers;
- Phones: Mobile devices management;
- Monitoring: Zabbix or similar;
- Incident Reporting tools: Service Now or similar tools;
- Other tools: MDT, WSUS, Mobi-Control, SCCM;
- Nice to have: PowerShell scripting experience and basic database knowledge;
- Good communication and presentation skills, conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language;
- Not only an individual contributor attitude, but also a demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have the capacity to identify, mitigate, and decide on solutions when facing obstacles in your assignment;
- Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and on-call duties.
Compensation Data
Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
