Let's introduce ourselves

This role combines the responsibilities of On-Site Support and Factory Service Desk roles to deliver comprehensive L1 and L2 IT support within a manufacturing environment. Support Engineer will be the first point of contact for factory IT issues and will also be hands-on with factory floor hardware, software, and infrastructure, ensuring swift and effective incident resolution. The team collaborates closely with network, server, and application support groups, operates on shifts, and contributes to IT service improvement initiatives.

Work hours: Shift-based aligned with factory production hours

What you'll do

Build on our future global plant infrastructure IT landscape and participate in delivering global digital infrastructure solutions according to the global standards.

In doing so, you will:

  • Utilize strong Information Technology mindset and previous experience with digital infrastructure domains;
  • Act as the first point of contact for factory IT issues, both in person and via ServiceNow tickets;
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across desktops, laptops, handhelds, printers, thin clients, tablets, forklift terminals, etc.;
  • Perform root cause analysis, resolution, or escalation of L1 and L2 incidents and service requests;
  • Monitor, analyze, and address alerts related to infrastructure, applications, network, and devices using tools like Zabbix;
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and GPO tasks within Active Directory;
  • Support deployment, patching, antivirus updates, and compliance on factory clients;
  • Deploy OS images, applications, and perform reimaging as needed using tools like MDT, WSUS, MobiControl;
  • Handle stock and asset management: record movements, perform replacements, and manage spare part inventory;
  • Operate within OpenVMS, Windows, and Linux environments to support application and middleware components;
  • Collaborate with application teams and 3rd party vendors for issue resolution;
  • Contribute to knowledge base development and process improvements;
  • Participate in shift rotation, weekend support, and on-call schedules as required;
  • Support major incident management and lead resolution during critical IT disruptions;
  • Be responsible for lessons learned management, share best practices and knowledge and coach the team members.

What you'll bring

  • Several years of previous working experience in the daily operations in a similar position;
  • Preferred university education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, as well as additional qualifications in the form of relevant certifications such as: CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CISM, MS Certified AZ/SC, CompTIA (A+, Security+), ITIL;
  • Server OS: Basic knowledge of Server Operating systems, such as Linux, Windows and (optional) OpenVMS;
  • Client OS: Hands-on experience with OS Windows 7/10/11;
  • DC Facilities: Basic knowledge of server room components like Power, UPS;
  • AD: Knowledge of maintaining accounts/clients in Active Directory and maintaining GPO’s;
  • Network: Basic knowledge of LAN setup, including wireless;
  • Desktop Security: Knowledge of antivirus deployment and update, patch management, monitoring and reporting;
  • Desktop, Laptop, Handheld devices: Hands-on experience in OS deployment / provisioning, common application installation and troubleshooting, hardware knowledge, disposal (disk wipe);
  • Monitoring: Zabbix or similar tools;
  • Printers: Hands-on experience in managing printers (Local & Network printers);
  • Phones: Experience with mobile devices management;
  • Incident Reporting tools: Hands-on experience with tools such as Service Now;
  • Monitoring tools: Hands-on experience with tools such as ZABBIX;
  • ITIL: Basic understanding of ITIL processes, preferably ITIL certification;
  • Good communication and presentation skills, conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language;
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude but also a demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have the capacity to identify, mitigate and decide on solutions when facing obstacles in your assignment;
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and on-call duties.

 

Nice to have experience:

  • Databases: Basic Oracle/Oracle RDB understanding;
  • Tools such as MDT, WSUS, MobiControl;
  • Scripting tools such as Powershell.

Compensation

Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
