What you´ll do
We are now looking for a Senior Logistics Engineer – Inbound Logistics to strengthen our Inbound Logistics Optimization EMEA & Rest of the World team.
At Volvo Cars Supply Chain Management, we manage and develop a global inbound supply chain that is constantly evolving to be ready for the future. We do this in a lean and sustainable manner with a constant eye on new opportunities and developments. We care about people, safety, and sustainability in line with our brand promise.
You will be part of the regional team Inbound Logistics Optimization EMEA & Rest of the World, that secures that right prerequisites are set to continuously run our transport network. To achieve a cost and operational efficient network, we ensure that all transportations are planned, optimized and implemented for operational use to all Volvo Cars manufacturing sites.
- To define and set the most efficient transport set-up for all flows in our transport network, which includes leadtimes, time windows, equipment and transport mode to name a few.
- To control and optimize the cost of the transport network
- To secure best in class utilization of our full trailer/container loads
- To adjust our bought capacity based on the volume fluctuations in our transport network
- To secure a balanced inflow of material to all our sides to secure the unloading/loading capacity at all sides
- To ensure that all the transport networks are secured in the internal system to secure order creations in the transport management system
- To lead the cross functional work to mitigate the peak volumes around banking holidays towards our manufacturing sides and cross docks
- To lead and support cross functional work to improve the end-to-end flow from supplier to production
- To support our manufacturing sides in their transformation process
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 5–10+ years of working experience in logistics engineering, supply chain engineering, or operational optimization
- Preferable working experience within Automotive
- Experienced from working in an international working environment
- Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain engineering and optimization
- Hands on experience in designing and optimizing logistic network
- Strong data and analytical capabilities, which include working experience in Excel and PowerBI
- Structured problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Strong communication skills to support the cross-functional work
- Comfortable working in complex, fast‑changing environments
- Fluent in the English and Slovak verbal and written
- Any other experience of project management or Lean, Six Sigma is an advantage
Compensation
Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job.
Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
