Let's introduce ourselves

As a part of the Corporate Security function, which is responsible for establishing and maintaining protection from all security threats. In Košice plant, this position falls under the Plant Engineering dpt., together with other central functions such as Environment, Facility Management, and Plant Maintenance (center of excellence for maintenance).

What you'll do

You will develop and implement security strategy, systems, processes, and mitigations against all identified risks and take over responsibility for security in Volvo Car Košice (VCK) and its premises during the construction and operation of the plant.

In doing so, you will:

  • Manage and implement the local security programme for the Kosice plant, including measures against criminality and sabotage;
  • Develop, maintain, and implement Corporate Security’s global directives, instructions, processes, and guidelines to ensure VCK operates to a professional security standard;
  • Conduct security assessments, lead security investigations and incident reporting, identify and evaluate security risks, escalate matters where appropriate, and implement solutions to overcome these concerns;
  • Manage, coordinate, and oversee VCK’s team of external security guards, including auditing, quality control, and adequate pricing;
  • Manage accesses to premises;
  • Operate CCTV systems;
  • Prevent losses;
  • Provide cross-functional support and security training;
  • In cooperation with Corporate Security, ensure that major events and VIP visits are conducted in a secure manner, to our standards and policies;
  • Liaise with local law enforcement authorities as part of VCK’s security programme;
  • Manage outreach and cooperation with key stakeholders to maintain security standards at VCK;
  • Communicate expectations clearly, provide necessary instructions;
  • Keep an overview of emerging security threats, and report relevant risks and security trends back to Corporate Security and local management.

What you'll bring

  • Several years of previous experience in a leadership role protecting companies from criminality and risks, preferably in an international organization;
  • Preferred university education: Protection of persons and property, Law, Military or Police Academy, Public administration, or equivalent;
  • Clear criminal record;
  • Nice to have is a valid certificate of professional competence for persons authorized to perform physical protection and investigation or physical protection, investigation, pursuant to Act No. 473/2005 Coll. on private security;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of principles of technical safety systems, legislation, and basic concepts in the field of security activities;
  • Working experience cooperating with units of the Police Force of the Slovak Republic;
  • Ability to independently drive tasks and solve problems;
  • Analytic and data reporting skills;
  • Technical proficiency in working with security systems and office software;
  • Experience and ability to lead a team of security guards or equivalent force;
  • Conversational in English, written and spoken;
  • Self-starter and troubleshooting attitude, high level of communication skills;
  • Ability to ensure ownership of the protection of our facilities and people;
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude, but also an ability to work within a multinational team.

Compensation Data

Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.800 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
