What you'll do:

  • Utilize strong manufacturing engineering mindset and previous experience in the automotive industry to ensure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers;
  • Being part of a global production team, supporting new car project, setting up the new production plant in Kosice, Slovakia, global development work and running production;
  • Follow Electrical/PLC Volvo standards, implement them into our tools/equipment, and coordinate their implementation by our suppliers; 
  • Follow up on time plans and techniques within the area of responsibility and project; 
  • Follow up on end user take-over routines to production within the area; 
  • Be responsible for commonality follow up and coordination between car plants and central Manufacturing Engineering; 
  • Share knowledge and experience, and offer trainings accordingly, to improve the capability and competence of local engineers.
     

What you'll bring:

  • Previous manufacturing engineering experience, working on PLC projects is mandatory;
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens PLC – Simatic; 
  • Knowledge of Facility / Tooling / Equipment processes
  • Previous working experience or at least knowledge of robots basic principles – Fanuc Fpack;
  • Preferred engineering education: Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical, or equivalent; 
  • Machine Safety knowledge - PLC/line safety reviews (safety zones, safety equipment incl safety doors, rollers gates, light beams etc.); 
  • Electrical hardware knowledge; 
  • Robot architecture knowledge (basic manipulation, programming); 
  • Controls layout follow-up, including PLC, HMI, APC (ATACQ-PC) & LPC (LinePC);
  • Steering concept for PLC (including scanners/readers/operator guiding systems layout);
  • Component lists / spare part lists / equipment lists for PLC/EL related topics;
  • PLC-versions + double check / follow up on PLC capacity utilization; 
  • Experience working with electrical design;
  • Eplan knowledge; 
  • Vision, Andon/andon controls; 
  • Conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language; 
  • Ability and willingness to travel within and outside Europe, more frequently in the initial phase (2024), although based in Kosice, Slovakia; 
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude but also an ability to work within a multinational team; 
  • Self-starter and troubleshooting attitude, high level of communication skills, curiosity to learn new technologies; 
  • Analytic and engineering data reporting skills.

Salary for this position starting from 2.250 EUR, per month, brutto.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to the monthly salary, there is also a 13th salary paid in an aliquot amount and a performance bonus depending on the company's financial results and individual performance.
