With Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering, you are part of a global product on team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. You will support new car project, global development work and running production. We are seeking a PLC Engineer at Industrialization VCK within Manufacturing Engineering.
Who will you report to?
The main reporting line leads to Propulsion Components Industrial Engineering Manager.
What you will do:
- Follow Electrical/PLC Volvo standards during project.
- Follow up of time plans and technique within the area of responsibility and project.
- Follow up of end user take over routine to production within the area.
- Coordination of PLC standards implementation by our suppliers
- Update suppliers with current/new PLC standards
- Implement Volvo PLC/Electrical standards into our tools/equipment
- Knowledge of robots basic principles – Fanuc Fpack
- Coordination with other major activities within the area.
- Commonality follow up and coordination between car plants and central Manufacturing Engineering
- Share knowledge and experience, and offer trainings accordingly, to improve capability and competence of local engineers.
- Maintain good communication within the area and other parts of the organisation.
- Demonstrate personal leadership in support of company business objectives and role model the Volvo Cars Culture.
What we require:
- PLC Knowledge – Siemens Simatic, Industrial network knowledge, Electrical hardware knowledge, Robots architecture knowledge (basic manipulation, programming) and Machine Safety knowledge - PLC/line safety reviews (safety zones, safety equipment incl safety doors, rollers gates, light beems etc);
- Controls layout follow-up, including PLC, HMI, APC(ATACQ-PC) & LPC (LinePC);
- Steering concept for PLC (including scanners/readers/operator guiding systems layout);
- Component-list/sparepart lists/equipment lists for PLC/EL related topics;
- PLC-versions + double check/follow up of PLC capacity utilization;
- Experience of working with electrical design;
- Eplan knowledge;
- Experience of Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens PLC – Simatic;
- Preferred university education in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience;
- Vision, Andon/andon controls;
- Communication and collaboration with internal and external customers and stakeholders;
- Experience of Manufacturing Engineering processes and Facility, Tooling and Equipment process.

Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
