What you'll do
Industrialization Final Assembly is a section within Manufacturing Engineering. Together with our central resources, we develop and implement quality-assured, flexible, and effective production systems in the Final Assembly shop, to make sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. The section is working cross-functionally & project-oriented, securing local industrialization of car programs.
We are looking for a candidate who has a global and strategic mindset and a challenging attitude in a cross-functional and global environment. To fully enjoy the position you need extensive collaboration, networking and argumentation skills and deep knowledge of process design.
The right candidate is highly skilled in process design and fluent in both English and Slovak, written and spoken due to our global organization set up.
The role has the overall responsibility for the successful delivery of product and non-product projects in a specific area of Final Assembly according to the line fundamentals, budget and quality standards through planning, tracking and collaborating with cross-functional teams. It involves overseeing implementation, securing alignment for new concepts, and maintaining a positive team environment for creativity and innovation.
You will be one of the main contributors in setting up layouts, and process flow for a part of the assembly shop. You will be responsible for your area development and coordination and for Manufacturing Deliveries in programs. The other crucial part of the role’s mission is to participate in the long-term strategic development of area layouts and the development. You are also expected to work and contribute to the global manufacturing engineering team. In many ways, you will be the bearer of Volvo values and sharing best practice and knowledge across the team.
The right candidate will, with solid business knowledge, be responsible and strive to secure all program aspects within their own area, such as layout, best process, finance follow up etc.
What you'll bring
- Preferred engineering university education: Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, or equivalent;
- Several years of previous manufacturing engineering experience leading projects (installation/commissioning) and coordinating teams;
- Global manufacturing competence and mindset connected to requirements and strategies;
- You are a skilled leader with great communication skills and knowledge of industrial and production or logistic processes;
- Experience in automation and preferably knowledge within Design for Manufacturing, Logistics, Value Stream Mapping, LEAN, VCMS, Kanban or agile way of working;
- Solid project management skills as well as decisive financial acumen since you will be managing investments in your area;
- Conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language;
- Ability and willingness to travel within and outside Europe, more frequently in the initial phase, although based in Kosice, Slovakia;
- Not only an individual contributor attitude but also an ability to work within a multinational team;
- Self-starter and troubleshooting attitude, high level of communication skills, curiosity to learn new technologies;
- Analytic and engineering data reporting skills.

Compensation
Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.700 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
