Place of work: Valaliky, Kosice district, Slovakia

 

Who will you report to?
The main reporting line leads to Shop Manager Body in White.

 

What will you do?

  • Utilize strong manufacturing engineering mindset and previous experience in the automotive industry to prepare, develop, implement, and improve process solutions & methods to secure the Body Shop process products; 

  • Coordinate and follow up commonality between global car plants, central Manufacturing Engineering and local Maintenance group;

  • Develop and implement joining control plans to establish quality assurance;

  • Share knowledge and experience, and offer trainings accordingly, to improve capability and competence of technicians and maintenance operators;

  • Participate in the execution of technical maintenance functions and maintenance technical management in order to optimize equipment availability and cost control of production assets.

  • Consistently use visualization standards in order to provide transparency on performance and challenges in your area.

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to supervisors/technicians and operator maintenance.

  • Collaborate with ME, Central Maintenance and R&M team to define and update preventative/corrective maintenance programs;

  • Align with R&D regarding all Joining Quality & Repair Methods;

  • Demonstrate personal leadership in support of company business objectives and role model the Volvo Cars Culture;

  • Split/share responsibilities of various joining processes with other joining engineers on the team.

  • In project input phase ( Request for quotation and Design Review), give the constructive input to ME and supplier for better running production.

 

What will you bring?

  • Several years of previous working joining engineering and Joining Quality assurance experience in highly automated industrial environment, preferably OEM;

  • Preferred university education in Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical, or related field;

  • Exceptional project management and leadership skills;

  • Demonstrated flexibility, being able to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project;

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis, although based in Valiliky, Kosice district, Slovakia; 

  • Knowledge of joining processes:

- Resistance Spot Welding

- Resistance Projection Welding

- Laser Welding (Remote Laser Welding)

Laser Brazing

- Gas Metal Arc Welding

Drawn Arc Stud Welding

- Flow Drill

- Self-Piercing Riveting

- Roller Hemming

- Adhesive Bonding

- Robot joining equipment/tool experience

- Resistance Welding gun and Inverter knowledge

Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.250 EUR.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
