What you'll do
- Utilize strong Information Technology mindset and previous experience with agile development practices, building backend functionalities of ERP, MES or a similar system;
- Bear E2E responsibility for local system and application operations, with a strong capability to solve incidents, while ensuring availability, scalability, and reliability of our systems and applications, mainly Java-based Manufacturing Execution System;
- Analyze user requirements and interpret them into digital functions, follow Volvo standards when creating and updating technical specifications;
- Drive operational stability of critical digital deliveries;
- Be responsible for software testing (UAT), rollout plan, deployment, verification, software handover, and information to the factory support team;
- Drive software problem tickets to resolution and ensure respective problem tasks are being executed;
- Share knowledge and experience, and offer training accordingly, to improve the capability and competence of local engineers.
What you'll bring
- Several years of previous backend Java software engineering experience in an international environment, preferably using collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Git or similar;
- Preferred university education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, as well as additional qualifications in the form of relevant certifications such as: MS Certified AZ/SC, Oracle Java Programmer/Database Design & Programming, and/or similar;
- Working experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server), Container Orchestration (OpenShift), Java web development frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, …), messaging (MQ, Kafka, …), frontend (Angular);
- Understanding of ITIL processes, application operation & monitoring (how to consult logfiles, database statistics, understand middleware and how to look at logs & configurations);
- Understanding of the web technology stack, modern web frameworks such as React or Angular, data models, persistence layers, back-end services (REST API’s, …), caching strategies, and messaging;
- Demonstrated flexibility, being able to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project, but thrive in such a fast-paced environment;
- Good communication skills, conversational in English and Slovak, written and spoken (B2);
- Not only an individual contributor attitude but also a demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have the capacity to identify, mitigate, and decide on solutions when facing obstacles in your assignment;
- Passion to build on our future global plant infrastructure IT landscape, eager to learn and grow (themselves and us) using a modern approach to Software Engineering;
- Ability and willingness to occasionally travel within Europe, although based in Košice district, Slovakia.
Compensation Data
Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
