Cooperation sectors: central product organizations, infrastructure, manufacturing engineering, suppliers, plant operations.
What you'll do
You will utilize strong engineering mindset and previous experience to take ownership for digital launch success and long-term application stability at the site level. The role combines senior program and people leadership, and application ownership to ensure that digital solutions are ready for production start, scale with factory ramp up, and operate reliably in a steady state.
In doing so, you will:
- Act as local launch lead for Digital / IT applications and as the single point of contact for application-related topics at the site level;
- Own local digital readiness and execution, including scope, milestones, dependencies, and risks;
- Lead cross-functional coordination across: Local application and DevOps team, Infrastructure and Factory Support, Manufacturing Engineering, External partners and suppliers;
- Drive prioritization and escalation during critical launch phases;
- Ensure readiness for cutover, go live, hypercare, and stabilization;
- Ensure: High availability and performance, Operational stability and predictability, Compliance with security, data protection, and internal controls;
- Ensure monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery practices are effective;
- Steer application lifecycle, upgrades, and technical debt together with central product teams;
- Drive continuous improvement of stability, quality, and ways of working;
- Provide clear, fact-based status reporting to site management and central Digital leadership;
- Lead and develop the local applications / DevOps team, organize their daily workflow, ensure accountability and continuous improvement, recognize achievements, and handle people issues;
- Oversee all aspects of people planning and management, including short and long-term resource planning, holiday scheduling, sickness management, and individual performance management;
- Communicate job expectations clearly, provide necessary instructions and feedback to team members;
- Be a role model for Volvo Cars values, encourage a speak-up culture, so your team can freely highlight problems, deviations, opportunities to improve through potential solutions.
What you'll bring
- Several years of previous program and people management experience in application management, DevOps, or IT operations, preferably in a manufacturing / factory environment;
- Exceptional understanding and practical knowledge of all the aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using agile development practices, incl. development, testing, rollout, deployment (continuous integration and deployment pipelines), and further support;
- Strong stakeholder management and supplier coordination skills and experience;
- Good understanding of the car manufacturing processes and real-time production management;
- Preferred university education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field;
- Ability to professionally communicate, verbally and in written form, in both English and Slovak language;
- Flexibility, being able not only to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project, but thrive in such a fast-paced environment;
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Compensation Data
Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 3.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
