Reports to: DevOps Team Manager
Cooperation sectors: central product organizations, application / infrastruture and factory support, manufacturing engineering, plant operations.
What you'll do
You will utilize strong engineering mindset and previous experience to participate in digital launch success and long-term application stability at the site level.
In doing so, you will:
- Analyse user requirements and interpret them into digital functions, follow Volvo standards when creating and updating technical specifications;
- Be responsible for software testing (UAT), rollout plan, deployment and verification, software handover, and information to the factory support team;
- Drive software problem tickets to resolution and ensure respective problem tasks are being executed;
- Ensure readiness for cutover, go live, hypercare, and stabilization;
- Ensure: High availability and performance, Operational stability and predictability, Compliance with security, data protection, and internal controls;
- Ensure monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery practices are effective;
- Steer application lifecycle, upgrades, and technical debt together with central product teams;
- Drive continuous improvement of stability, quality, and ways of working.
What you'll bring
- Several years of previous experience in software engineering as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing / factory environment;
- Exceptional understanding and practical knowledge of all the aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using agile development practices, incl. development, testing, rollout, deployment (continuous integration and deployment pipelines) and further support;
- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization, version control, IaC, and other tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform, and Ansible;
- Experience implementing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for reliable code deployment, as well as monitoring solutions to ensure system performance and uptime;
- Knowledge of Scripting/Programming languages like Python, Ruby, Go, or Bash for automation;
- Knowledge and working experience with relational databases;
- Knowledge and preferable experience with application operation & monitoring (how to consult logfiles, database statistics, understand middleware, and how to look at logs & configurations);
- Understanding of the web technology stack (e.g. HTML, HTTP) , modern web frameworks such as React or Angular, knowledge of back-end development (Java, Node.js), including data models, persistence layers, back-end services, caching strategies, and messaging is a plus;
- Preferred university education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, and a certification in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP;
- English language proficiency;
- Flexibility, being able to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field environment;
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team;
- Problem-solving and a continuous improvement mindset.
Compensation Data
Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.500 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
