We are currently looking for a new colleague, who would help us to establish a data-driven approach to our Operation and Engineering within Body in White.
You should be the flag bearer behind architecting a functional data flow process from our machinery and other process flows in a way, which allows us to make educated decisions for our Shop Engineering team and production. 


If you have a similar experience from a manufacturing environment, you can visualize data, so it is clear and easy to understand, regardless of the person going through it is an engineer or an operator, you might be the right candidate for the role!

 

Responsibility:
 
1. Ensure flow and visualization. 

 

  • We will have numerous robots as well as people working on the Shop Floor, your role is to ensure, that the data flows to a source, which allows us to make clear and understandable visualizations. 
  • Collaboration between the central digital team, Manufacturing Engineering, each functions engineer and shop management team. You should know the data usage and visualization purpose for technical points, you will be the key contact point for data-related issues.  
  • We use PowerBI, and Microsoft-related tools (previous experience with PowerBI is favourable, but of course using Tableau or a different tool will not rule you out as a candidate).
  • The occasional data scraping could be needed as well.

 
2. Define and implement solutions for integrating data from various sources to enable seamless data flows and enhance data accessibility. 

 

  • Advise on and profile source system data. 
  • Define how data should be integrated to maximize accessibility and reusability.
  • Review and advise on data integration proposals based on Volvo's data architecture, principles, and guidelines. 

 

3. Consult and advise business areas on data architecture best practices, ensuring they align with the D&A Core standards and guidelines. 
 

  • Specify and promote data architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization. 
  • Educate/guide /coach stakeholders on data architecture guidelines and best practices. 
  • Embody the Volvo values and D&A cultural principles. 

 
What will you bring?

 

  • Several years of dedicated data industry experience. Ideally possessing previous experience with manufacturing environment (more physical, than virtual)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau etc.)
  • SQL (MSSQL), scraping experience with Python is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or above, qualified in a relevant subject (or suitable equivalent industry experience).
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about modern architectural practices and someone who believes in a pragmatic approach to data architecture.
  • Ability to speak through data, regardless of the stakeholders (Management, Engineering, Production.) 
  • Understanding or willingness to learn, particularly what lies behind the data harvested. Will to understand processes within an OEM environment.
  • Extending on the previous point, experience within an automotive environment is a plus.
  • Excellent in Slovak and English listening, speaking, written skills, and presentation skills.

 

The salary for this position starts from 2.450 EUR, per month, brutto.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to the monthly salary, there is also a 13th salary paid in an aliquot amount and a performance bonus depending on the company's financial results and individual performance.
