Automation Engineer (PLC) - Stamping, (VCK)

What you'll do:

  • Utilize strong manufacturing engineering mindset, and previous experience in the automotive industry to ensure that all PLC and electrical systems follow Volvo standards and are installed and commissioned correctly in the project phase as well as running production in our future Stamping Shop; 
  • Coordinate the setup of PLC network and VD communication within the PLC according to hardware standards; 
  • Support local production running and new technology development and deployment related to Industry 4.0.

 

Project phase: 

  • Be an expert in our production IT systems connected to our PLC systems and interfaces with our operators and participate in cross-functional teams; 
  • Work on our KPIs availability, MTTR, MDT, MCBF, safety etc.; 
  • Setup of Bill of Materials, spare parts list, and maintenance program, disturbance-solving instructions; 
  • Contribute to an optimal set-up of the maintainability and reliability in the production lines during the equipment design and installation phase; 
  • During the last year of the project phase, 2026, focus will be on trimming and validating the equipment during the building pre-series of cars, making instructions and training of maintenance employees; 
  • Close collaboration and technology exchange with the Mega casting shop (new technology where we will cast rear floors).

 

Running phase: 

  • Ensure maintenance KPI´s in pre-studies, installation, and ongoing production; 
  • Be responsible for developing your area/ function by applying Value Driven Maintenance; 
  • Provide technical guidance to supervisors / technicians; 
  • Work with continuous improvements of asset utilization (availability, quality);
  • Define and update the maintenance program (preventive and corrective). 

 

What you'll bring:

  • Previous technical automation experience in the automotive industry (OEM or Tier1/2 supplier) mandatory, at least 2 years; 
  • Knowledge of network and electrical design; 
  • Preferred engineering education: Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical, or equivalent ;
  • Conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language; 
  • Ability and willingness to travel within and outside Europe, more frequently in the initial phase (2024), although based in Kosice, Slovakia;
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude but also an ability to work within a multinational team; 
  • Analytic and engineering data reporting skills.

Salary for this position starting from 2.250 EUR, per month, brutto.
