What’s in it for you
We are looking for our next committed and collaborative colleague who is eager to join us as Shop Manager Stamping, a member of our Plant Management Team, and has the responsibility to be part of starting up a completely new Volvo Car Plant in Kosice, Slovakia (VCK).
You will be a part of the Stamping Project team and have the opportunity to be part of establishing the new shop, and drive the organization set-up and recruitment of your production team. You work in close collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and secure the best available techniques and new manufacturing process solutions. Strategic work and organizational planning will be a part of our daily work in the project phase.

What you will do
As Shop Manager you are responsible to facilitate the development of the training plan for your future production organization as well as leading the launch and ramp-up. In your daily work, you will recruit, train, coach and develop people alongside providing your teams with prerequisites to achieve our Volvo culture as well as targets. Your focus is to ensure shop readiness for running production.
You will create clarity by guiding and inspiring people through purpose, showing commitment by taking ownership and acting with integrity and trust and empowering teams by ensuring accountability and coaching for achievement.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe you have a relevant university degree and proven experience and record of improving your performance as a leader within stamping production or tool & die implementation projects. You possess the ability to both develop and motivate employees together with extended knowledge of industrial engineering methods, lean, tools, processes, production systems and ways of working in production.
For us it is essential that you are curious and always willing to learn more, continuously looking for robust and efficient processes and organizations.
You are a strong believer in the power of people, and you hold a strategic mindset with an ambition to develop future business with a holistic view. Strong communication and collaboration skills are characteristics of yours, making it easy for you to build knowledge and trust at all levels in the organization.
You have a passion for cars and technology, and you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Slovakian language skills will be a clear merit. The position is located in Kosice, Slovakia. You also need to have the flexibility to travel to some of our Global sister plants and head office in Sweden.
